Note: when approaching by road you are always following the local (brown) signs to the Stadium of Light, until the final part of the journey (after you have passed the S of L on your right).

By road from the north
Head south down the A19... (or down the A1 to the A1231 junction where you would leave the A1 and head towards Sunderland until you hit the junction with the A19-pick up the instructions from **.) Slip off onto the A1231 (signed Sunderland).

**Follow A1231 over 4 roundabouts to traffic light junction; stay in the left hand lane going straight ahead. Road then splits off onto the A1290 (signed Roker, Seaburn, Wearmouth Bridge. Go through next traffic lights and stay in left hand lane over roundabout (signed Glass Centre and Stadium of Light station). Left at the next roundabout and bear left through the traffic lights past the Stadium of Light metro station on your right. Go through 3 sets of traffic lights and then turn left at Lord Tool Hire. Take first right into Netherburn Road and first left again into Newbold Avenue. The Community Association is on the left set back behind the houses a short way along the road. Entrance lies between numbers 7 and 9.

From the west (A69)
Follow A69 to junction with the A1 and turn right at dissecting roundabout, heading south. Leave A1 at junction (slip road) with the A1231 (signed Sunderland), follow A1231 towards Sunderland until you hit the junction with the A19. Follow instructions above from **.

From the south
Plan journey to approach Newcastle on the A19. Note: there are many connecting roads between the A1 and the A19 at various levels, so if you are travelling up on the A1, take a look at a road map and choose where you want to cut across to the A19. The last opportunity to do this would be just after the road splits at Washington services, though the route onto the A1231 is slightly convoluted at this point. From the A19 take slip road onto the A1231 turning right towards Sunderland. Follow directions above from **.

On public transport
From Newcastle Central Station take a yellow line metro (the metro station is inside the train station) towards Sunderland. You are heading for the Stadium of Light station. Once you alight, cross the bridge over the metro line and head down the ramp towards the Toyota garage. Cross over the main road ahead of you at the traffic lights (pedestrian crossing) and head for Lord Tool hire where you turn left. Then take first right into Netherburn Road, and first left into Newbold Avenue. The Community Association is a little way along the road on the left, set back behind the houses.

Important note: The entrance drive that leads to the hall is placed between two houses-number 7 and number 9 Newbold Avenue.
