Championship awards
The NERS began awarding championships in 2005 to reward rats that excel in the pet and/or variety shows. The pet award was revamped in 2009 and a new championship for agility added. The awards consist of:
- The Variety Champion award
- The Stud Champion award
- The Pet Champion award
- The Agility Champion award
- The Grand Champion award
This means we reward excellence in temperament and 'pet' qualities, as well as excellence in physical attributes, ultimately with the highest award going to a rat who excels in both respects (grand championship).
